Dravek
"Flesh-Eater"
Short paragraph of general overview of the race.
Physical Traits
SIZE: Dravek sizes can rage just as widely as humans, even having cases of dwarfism and gigantism, however, they typically run at a fair "human average" if not being notably taller. On average, draveks are known to be rather slender and considerably fit, though it is not always a definite, and draveks can range as widely in build as they can in size.
HAIR: Typically, modern day dravek hair colors run about the same as the human average, with mostly browns and blondes, with the occasional "natural" reds, however, due to ancient bloodlines, it is possible for the rare appearance of much wilder colors, including, most often, white, silver, and bright, candied reds, with the even more uncommon muddied purples, blues, and greens.
EYES: Similar to hair colors, dravek eyes are most often similar to the human genome, with mostly browns and muddied greens, and the occasional blue or gray. However, they are also far more prone to colors which are considerably more "unnatural" in terms of the human average, typically running towards brighter, far more vibrant colors, and they are widely prone to heterochromatic mutations. Dravek eyes are also known to hold a reflective shine to them, similar to that of some animals, and their pupils are notably slightly slit. During times of extreme hunger, intense emotion, or exposure to high amounts of fresh kill or various allergens─be they personal or general in terms of the race─a dravek's eyes will take on a shark-like quality in filling to full black in color.
SKIN: Once again, when it comes to color variation, dravek skin tones appear the same as humans. The only difference between a dravek and a human in terms of skin, is that a dravek's skin is notably thicker than that of a human's, capable of surviving a fair bit more abuse than the average human, though tends to be a bit more sensitive to sunlight in most cases. Most notably, however, dravek skin is known to be considerably "flawless", rarely ever having blemishes, and often holding a vibrant, healthy shine to it.

OTHER:
- Ears - One key indicator of draveks lies in the slight point of their ears. While typically not as exaggerated as most races with similar features, dravek ears come to a notable point, giving them an almost elven quality.
- Teeth - As predators, dravek teeth have a natural sharpness to them, made for ripping and tearing at flesh. While the sharpness is present in all of their teeth, it is most notable in their canines, which are often also slightly elongated. These sharpened teeth are also known to be far stronger than that of a human, capable of tearing through most fabrics and even making a dent in some metals.
Capabilities
LIFESPAN and AGING: Draveks age similarly to humans, though tend to slow down in their aging sometime in their thirties, appearing to come to a complete halt around middle age or so, though it's possible that some draveks may cease aging sooner through traumatic event or other similar cause. On average, a full-blooded dravek can live a long, full life of close to 400 years, while half-blooded dravek not mixed with long-living races will live roughly 200 years. Anything less than half-blood and not mixed with a long-living race will typically live only moderately longer than a human.
STRENGTH: Draveks are known to be quite stronger than humans, with a strength with runs about par with that of most vampiric races. As mentioned, their bite is strong enough to easily tear through most fabrics, and even dent most metal. This is true, also, for their strength in general, and, on average, a dravek is capable of breaking most binds and structures with minimal effort. They can break through concrete, bend steel, and even tear off limbs with a fair bit of effort.
SPEED: Dravek top speeds tend to mark a fair bit higher than that of humans, though pales in comparison to races such as werefolk and most vampiric sorts. On average, a dravek can reach speeds of around 30 mph with minimal effort, with top speeds of up to 50 mph, however, it is theorized that they could be capable of reaching speeds of close to even 60 mph with full capacity.
AGILITY and REFLEXES: Draveks, additionally, are much more agile than humans, and have far faster reflexes, running nearly par with that of most vampiric races.
IMMUNITY and HEALING: Draveks are not known to have any natural advancement to their healing in comparison to humans or any other species and typically recover from injury just the same as most anyone else. In many cases, some draveks may have a higher immune system than humans and other races, however, it is just as likely that they may face the exact opposite.

GENERAL SENSES:
- Vision - While a dravek's basic vision can vary as widely as that of a human, they are known to at least have a higher level of sensitivity to their vision, regardless of their general eyesight. Able to pick up lower levels of light, dravekas are able to see to their fullest potential in dimmer lighting, and can decipher most things they normally would be able to in full darkness, having a basic form of general darkvision.
- Hearing - Draveks have considerably sensitive hearing, and are able to detect sounds and frequencies which humans typically cannot, falling in about par with the hearing of the average canine.
- Scent - Draveks have a very acute sense of smell, and are capable of detecting everything from various gases to even pheromones to a small degree.
ABILITIES:
- Magical Potential - Draveks have a natural prowess for magic, able to harness the magical energies which lie within them, as well as connect with the energies of the universe. Through proper training, they are able to reach high levels of magical practice; everything from spell casting and alchemy to potion brewing and more. Without training, however, this magic typically remains fairly dormant, though incredibly raw as well, leading to explosive releases of wild, untamed energy.
Weaknesses
GENERAL WEAKNESSES:
- Sensory Overload - With their heightened senses, draveks are at a higher risk of experiencing sensory overload, and are especially sensitive to high intensities of light, sound, and fragrance.
- Dravek Meat - Despite their need for the consumption of flesh from sentient beings, draveks cannot feed on their own kind, no matter the percentage of dravek blood which is present. Dravekian flesh has a generally drug-like effect on draveks themselves, triggering the release of both serotonin and melatonin. This causes both high levels of euphoria partnered with hallucinogenic episodes, as wel as a content sluggishness which can lead to eventual unconsciousness. Dravekian flesh is highly addictive, and high quantities can lead to overdose, bringing mild cardiac arrest and even the possibility of death.
- Bloodsbane - As with most predatory races, exposure to the plant, fresh or dried, causes minor paralysis, extreme illness, and even possible death in higher quantities.
- Predatory Hunger - Draveks are a traditionally predatory race, much in the same vein as vampiric races and concubi, and they possess a natural hunger for flesh, being a highly carnivorous race. The hunger they feel can only be satiated by the flesh of sentient beings, most notably in history, humans. Without a regular diet of proper flesh, draveks are known to grow steadily ill, and experience extreme pains, coupled with sporadic episodes of sensory sensitivity and intense migraines.
- Insanity - Should a dravek go too long without the consumption of proper flesh─typically running about a week or two on average─they will enter a state of mind referred to as "Insanity". In this state, a dravek becomes completely feral in mind, and somewhat rabid in a sense. They express extreme levels of aggression, attacking everything in sight, and killing most everything in their path. At this point, a dravek's mind is typically considered to be completely gone, entering the final stages of deterioration, and if not stopped, they will run themselves to death. There is no saving a dravek who has fully entered insanity, and even if contained, their bodies and minds will continue to degrade and eventually completely shut down.
POTENTIAL DEFECTS:
- Intermittent Insanity - Some draveks develop a mild form of "Semi-Insanity" through traumatic events, or can even be born with the disorder through hereditary means. Acting similarly to PTSD, draveks may enter a temporary feral state when triggered or falling close to general insanity. While generally short-lived, the feral flashes of Intermittent Insanity can still be just as severe as those of full Insanity, leading many draveks to severe damage both physically and mental, with a high risk of fatality. Feral flashes can leave significant destruction to the mind over time, leading to notable memory loss and both cognitive and mental processing damage.
